We are in the enviable position of being in Mid Cornwall, near to the A30 for easy access to the rest of the world, but far enough away from the main towns and cities to enjoy the peace and tranquiity of the local area.

Eden project   (3.4 miles)

This former clay mine has been transformed into a beautiful global garden, setting the stage for an extraordinary day out where you'll discover the natural world as you've never experienced it before.

Lost GArdens of heligan (8.2 miles)

Heligan is one of the most mysterious estates in England.  Lost to the brambles of time since the outbreak of WW1, this Sleeping Beauty was re-awakened in 1990 to become Europe’s largest garden restoration project. Today Heligan’s 200 acres are a paradise for the explorer, wildlife, plant lover and garden romantic. Heligan has been expertly curated to let little legs and old minds run free. Explore dappled woodland trails in the Giant’s Head Play Area, adventure across the iconic Jungle Road Bridge and discover Heligan Play Meadow (the South West’s largest outdoor play area), where children and the young-at-heart alike can stay and play all day in nature.

charlestown (1.8 miles)

A charming Grade II listed harbour and a Poldark connection are just a couple of the reasons you’ll want to head to Charlestown. With a plethora of shops, cafes and great restaurants, it’s definitely worth a visit.

An absolute must for any foodie! A la crate and set menus of seasonal fare, highlighting local ingredients from an open kitchen. Part of the Michelin Guide 2024 selection.

carlyon bay (1.9 miles)

Carlyon Bay is a mile long seafront of St. Austell, consisting of three beaches, each distinct in character and beauty. Easy to find, with good parking, year round public access and dog friendly. A delicious mix of local, independent foodies, transform the beach into a riot of flavours. Get active on the beach through bootcamp, yoga and jet ski safaris. Carlyon Bay welcomes a line-up of live, local music every weekend May through to September.

Polkerris beach (6.3 miles)

Polkerris is one of Cornwall’s best family beaches. An idyllic sandy cove & coastline, fantastic water sports, some of the best walks, rockpooling and stand up paddle boarding. Seafood at “Sam’s on the Beach” is a must while at Polkerris.

fowey (8 miles)

Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this pretty harbour town is situated on the west side of a deep estuary, where the Fowey River reaches the sea. Yachts tack back and forth across the water while gulls cry overhead. As you walk the narrow streets where mediaeval and Georgian buildings cast shadows over each other, a vibrant maritime history comes to life. Discover small independent shops, selling unusual gifts, art, clothing and books, cafes and pubs. Doughnuts at Mardy Bakery are a must!

mevagissey (8 miles)

A Fishy village. In typical picture postcard style, pubs, cafes, galleries and shops cluster around the harbour walls and line the pretty streets of Mevagissey.

camel valley vineyard (12.2 miles)

For the wine lovers! Unique tours are relaxed and friendly and the location is stunning. Sitting on the terrace, overlooking the vineyard, sipping Camel Valley wine on a summer’s afternoon is magical.

bodmin jail (12.2 miles)

Built in 1779 Bodmin Jail is a landmark historical site in the heart of Cornwall. Showcasing the rich and darkly fascinating legacy of Georgian and Victorian crime and punishment, the jail is an immersive, world class experience for the whole family.

nancarrow farm (21.2 miles)

A tad further afield but we couldn’t not mention this absolute gem of a place. A gorgeous organic farm which hosts Lunches, Farm Suppers and Feast Nights using the farm produce.
